Here is a short vlog from my run this morning. I hope to do these every week as a record of my "long runs" and times.
Today's workout was a 4 mile walk/jog. It went like this: 4 mile walk/jog this morning in 50:56..3 miles in 39:08 an improvement in my three mile time from last week by 4 minutes, 26 seconds! woo hoo!!(unless last weeks mileage was inaccurate. I will be doing this run on the same track next week so we'll see how I do next week.)
Right now, my goal is to run the half marathon on October 30, 2010. This is a "special" day and I will be "running" it "in honor"/in "dedication of"..whatever words you want to use...for a special friend of mine. October 30 will also mark the end of my mission I will be starting on Monday. October 30 is a big day for my friend and I will be pushing myself as she will also be pushing herself to make this day of October 30 to be an awesome day of great accomplishment. I believe!!
Here is something I read recently.
"Now here goes, I know I’m going to insult somebody out there, if you are bored, you are boring. And you know why?
Because when you say I’m bored what you are really saying is, somebody else entertain me. Somebody out there make me happy. But if you say, I’m a bore, now you have to take responsibility. The only way I know how to get out of boredom is to do something outrageous. Do something you’ve never done before; something totally out of character because, guess what… You’ll be nervous, you’ll be scared, you’ll be excited but you won’t be bored anymore. And I know when people hear some of my ideas, they say, Oh, I can do that or I’ve done that, that’s no big deal, but then there’s the one that they hear and then say, oh, I could never do that in a million years.
Well that’s the one I want them to do because you know why? As soon as you even start to think about the things that you can’t do, your heart starts to beat faster, the adrenaline starts to flow and you’re alive and that’s what I really teach - Feeling alive again!"

And this is exactly what I have done in taking on this "challenge" of "running" a half marathon. This is something I've never done before. It is totally out of character for me as I've never liked to run. It is "outrageous" to me to be even thinking about doing such a thing. I am nervous, I am scared, I am excited..and most of all..I am NOT bored!!
I am feeling ALIVE again!
If I've stepped on any toes here with this...well....TOO BAD!! Get over it! This is accountability!! Do you really want what you desire here? Do truly want that healthy, fit body? If you want extraordinary changes, then you will have to do extraordinary things to get it! That means getting your butt to the gym when you don't "feel like it", when you are not "motivated", when you are "bored". Being bored or not being motivated is what got you in the condition you are currently in.
woo..ok I am on fire!!! HELLO People!! Are you listening???! any blog subscription readers out there in email land reading this..get your butt in here and tell us what you are doing. if you're not doing anything..why not? It's time!! If you are, then come show us how you are doing!
